Applications: coated or uncoated glass plates, thin glass cleaning, final cleaning of glass plates in panel production before coating or sandwich production to avoid particle entrapments
Initial situation
Particles from the environment and technical processes are deposited on the substrate in spite of low-dust production processes. These can lead to "particle entrapment" in sandwich production. During production of laminated glass panes, the glass strand is first trimmed on the side edges, then cut crosswise into individual panes. These processes produce small fragments of glass that spread over the entire glass surface. For further processing of the individual panes into a composite product, it is necessary to clean the surfaces to avoid entrapments.
Solution
To clean the top of the glass, the STATIK‑AIR® 08 cleaning system with strong suction power is mounted above the material surface. The STATIK‑AIR® 013 cleaning system is selected for the bottom cleaning because this cleaning head must be placed between the transport rollers. Depending on the design, the STATIK‑AIR cleaning system features either one or two ionisation rods for the elimination of electrostatic charges and clinging forces. The flat jet nozzles of the non-contact design cleaning systems loosen disrupting dust and foreign particles, which then are taken up by a concentrated suction flow and fed to a suction and filter unit of type ESUC or ESCA.
